Position Summary:
The Manager of Academic Searches and Recruitment oversees the search and recruitment process for all ladder and non\-ladder academic positions at the School of Law. Under the general guidance of the Assistant Dean for Administrative Services \& Special Projects, serves in an advisory capacity to the Chair and members of the Law School's Appointments Committee and all Ad Hoc search committees to mitigate potential labor and employee relations issues in compliance with appropriate collective bargaining agreements and APM. The incumbent manages all aspects of the academic recruitment program at the School of Law, which includes tracking the recruitment and selection of candidates in accordance with university requirements and requirements set by external accrediting bodies. The incumbent will evaluate and make recommendations on faculty search initiations and subsequent search reports, secure waivers of search as needed, and produce academic hire offer letters. The incumbent will evaluate the effectiveness of current recruitment strategies, propose and implement process improvement for the next recruitment cycle, and ensure training of Law School administrators on the academic applicant tracking system. The Manager of Academic Searches and Recruiting serves as a key member of the Dean's Office team.

- 5\-7 Years Professional experience working in a position of increasing responsibility at an institution of higher education. (Required)
- Demonstrated and successful experience in coordinating the activities of a busy and productive executive or office. (Required)
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and interact effectively, sensitively and diplomatically with faculty, staff, students and the public. Skill in establishing rapport and gaining the trust of others from diverse, multi\-cultural backgrounds. (Required)
- Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision, using initiative and resourcefulness in performing job duties in areas of responsibilities and in the execution of additional duties as assigned. (Required)
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues when appropriate and necessary to produce best possible product and accomplish prescribed goals. (Required)
- Advanced skill in writing and editing grammatically correct and logically organized documents such as memos, correspondence, and job postings. (Required)
- Ability to interpret University, Law School, and ABA policies and procedures and identify viable solutions within the guidelines stipulated and to effectively serve as resource to Dean, Vice Dean, and Associate Dean. (Required)
- Ability to analyze situations, to define the problem or objective, identify relevant factors, formulate logical conclusions and recognize alternatives expeditiously and with discretion and confidentiality. (Required)
- Ability to handle sensitive materials and information with confidentiality and discretion and appreciation of the overriding importance of confidentiality and loyalty. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing to convey information clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. (Required)

- Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience/training (Required)

- Ability to work on site at UCLA's Campus 4 to 5 times per week. (Required)
