The Role
You will serve as the IT and security lead embedded across multiple client engagements. We are a small team where people wear many hats which means we are looking for someone as excited about setting up MDM and SSO for a startup from scratch as they are about working day to day solving helpdesk issues and making sure the environment is running well. Helpdesk support is part of the job, not beneath it.
This is a heavy client\-facing consulting role. Daily client calls. Jumping into Slacks. Working directly with employees, HR, and engineering leadership. You will independently own your workstreams. Nobody will hand you a checklist.
What You Will Do
- Run corporate IT for client organizations: deploy and manage MDM platforms (Jamf, Kandji, Intune), administer identity providers (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace), enforce device compliance policies, manage endpoint provisioning and imaging, handle onboarding/offboarding workflows, and administer client SaaS stacks
- Build corporate security programs for clients who have nothing: write and implement policies (acceptable use, access control, incident response), run security awareness training, conduct periodic access reviews, and manage vendor risk basics
- Provide day\-to\-day IT support for client employees: troubleshoot login issues, reset MFA, resolve device problems, answer "how do I do X" questions, and triage escalations. You are their IT department.
- Respond to helpdesk tickets and ad\-hoc requests across multiple client environments.
- Advise on security tooling and configuration: help clients evaluate and select EDR, SIEM, CSPM, and DLP solutions that actually fit their environment and budget. Conduct security configuration reviews
- Handle cloud infrastructure basics: IAM, networking, and access control across AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Own client relationships: run your own workstreams, lead client meetings, provide weekly status updates, and manage expectations directly with client stakeholders
- Produce client\-ready deliverables: security questionnaire responses, policy documentation, configuration reviews, and remediation plans ready for client leadership without heavy editing
- 5\+ years of hands\-on experience in IT administration and cybersecurity. Actual technical delivery, not PM, not sales engineering, not "security\-adjacent"
- Prior consulting, professional services, or MSP experience is mandatory. You must have supported multiple clients and environments, not just one company's internal stack
- Strong IT administration skills: MDM, identity providers (Okta/Azure AD/Google Workspace), SaaS administration, endpoint management
- Corporate IT administration (MDM, endpoint management, identity providers, SSO/SCIM, device compliance, SaaS admin)
- Corporate security program management (policy development, security awareness, access reviews, vendor risk)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP: IAM, networking, access control, basic security services)
- Working knowledge of SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001\. You can implement controls, not just document them
- Strong client\-facing skills. You're comfortable jumping on a call with a client's VP of Engineering or their newest hire who can't get Okta working
- Professional\-level English: written and verbal. Client calls are daily
- You've run a corporate IT program (endpoint fleet, identity provider, device compliance), not just audited one
- You've built a security program from nothing and taken it to operational
- You've led engagements, not just participated in them
- You have certifications like CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent
