Job Overview
The Village of Nyack Housing Authority is seeking a Housing Program Assistant to gather, review, and evaluate records and applications for the Section 8 and Tax\-Exempt programs, along with other related work as required. This role involves providing exceptional administrative support, managing office operations, and assisting with housing\-related tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong office management skills, proficiency in computer applications, and excellent customer service abilities. Bilingual skills are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from High School or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2\) years of paid work experience\
- in examining, investigating or evaluating claims for assistance, housing, unemployment or insurance benefits or similar programs operating under established criteria for eligibility, which included or was supplemented by six (6\) months of work experience which required the use of a computer

\*College or business school study may be substituted for the experience described above on a year\-for\-year basis
Candidates will be required to take the Housing Program Assistant civil service examination and be reachable on the resulting eligible list to maintain employment.
Special Requirements: A valid driver license or accessibility to transportation to meet field work requirements.
