Medicaid Success is seeking a detail\-oriented and compassionate Medicaid Eligibility Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in helping families and long\-term care facilities navigate the complex Medicaid application process for long\-term care services across all 50 states. You will assist applicants (often elderly or disabled individuals and their families) by gathering documentation, completing applications, submitting them to the appropriate state Medicaid agency, and serving as an authorized representative throughout the approval process. No prior Medicaid experience is required—we provide comprehensive training. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, a strong communicator, and comfortable working in a fast\-paced environment supporting law firms and long\-term care partners. Key Responsibilities Conduct client intakes and gather necessary financial, medical, and personal documentation for long\-term care Medicaid applications. Complete and review Medicaid applications with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring compliance with varying state and federal regulations. Serve as the authorized representative for clients, communicating directly with Medicaid agencies in multiple states, long\-term care facilities, and families. Submit applications electronically or via mail and track application status through all stages of review. Respond promptly to requests for additional information (RFIs) from Medicaid agencies and work to resolve any issues or appeals. Maintain detailed, organized client files and case notes in our case management system. Collaborate with law firms, financial firms, nursing homes, and other partners to ensure smooth coordination of services. Educate clients and families on Medicaid eligibility rules, asset spend\-down strategies, and the overall application process. Stay current on changes in Medicaid policies across different states, particularly those related to long\-term care, nursing home coverage, and home and community\-based services. Meet or exceed company standards for application processing time, approval rates, and client satisfaction. Qualifications \& Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work, healthcare administration, business, paralegal studies, or related field is a plus. Previous experience in Medicaid, insurance verification, medical billing, social services, or administrative roles is helpful but not required. Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software systems (case management, document management, and state portals). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail with strong organizational and time\-management abilities. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Empathy and patience when working with elderly clients, families under stress, and long\-term care staff. Preferred Skills Previous experience as a paralegal is highly desirable, but not necessary. Experience in a legal, healthcare, or insurance environment. Familiarity with Medicaid rules across multiple states is a plus (training provided). Bilingual abilities are a strong plus.
