- Master’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field or 6 years of related experience OR
- Professional certification in related field preferred
- Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows suite

- Provides excellent customer service to all in person, in email and over the phone; is approachable, helpful and personable; and answers questions knowledgeably and with patience
- Utilizes current financial accounting software to maintain the general ledger and related subsidiary accounts for assigned functions and funds in accordance with GAAP with very limited guidance from the Board of County Commissioners Accounting Supervisor.
- Produces monthly financial statements and periodic reviews for assigned funds and fund groups
- Produces annual financial statements for assigned funds
- Participates in the timely completion of various periodic tasks
- Utilizes imaging software to collect data for retention and review
- May assist in the timely completion of tasks related to grant activities
- Participates in division cross training initiatives to acquire knowledge and skill sets to support efficient functioning of the assigned division work
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

The Accounting division performs general accounting functions for the Board of County Commissioners, including the preparation of the financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accountant IV/Finance is a full\-time, non\-supervisory position that reports to the Board of County Commissioners Accounting Supervisor.
THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR REMOTE WORK. REMOTE WORK IS NOT GUARANTEED. EMPLOYEES MAY QUALIFY FOR REMOTE WORK BY MEETING THE ELIBILITY REQUIREMENTS IN THE CLERK’S REMOTE WORK POLICY AND UPON AUTHORIZATION BY THE EMPLOYEE’S DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR.
