Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and third\-party logistics providers (3PL) to foster trust and repeat business.
- Coordinate freight shipments by utilizing transportation management systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and CRM software to streamline operations.
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers and clients to maximize profitability while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and other industry standards.
- Manage inside sales efforts by generating leads, qualifying prospects, and closing new accounts through B2B sales strategies.
- Oversee transportation planning and dispatching activities, including carrier selection, capacity management, and scheduling to meet customer deadlines.
- Monitor shipment status, troubleshoot issues proactively, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate data entry for freight transactions, pricing details, and contractual agreements using systems like AS400 or equivalent platforms.
- Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management systems (TMS), or logistics sales.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage contracts and pricing strategies effectively.
- Familiarity with transportation planning, carrier sales, freight logistics, and dispatching processes.
- Knowledge of B2B sales techniques, lead generation methods, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Ability to handle data entry accurately within systems such as EDI or AS400 platforms.
- Excellent communication skills for inside sales calls, negotiations, and client relationship building.
- Prior experience working with 3PL providers or NVOCC (Non\-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations is a plus.
