Job Description

Youth Summer Strength \& Conditioning Doniphan\-Trumbull Public Schools

Doniphan\-Trumbull Public Schools is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Summer Strength \& Conditioning Coordinator to lead our district\-wide summer athletic development program for student\-athletes in grades 4–8\. This position plays a vital role in building a strong foundation for all student\-athletes across every sport and at every level of development.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Coordinator will design, implement, and oversee individualized and group\-based strength and conditioning programs that support the physical development of all student\-athletes, regardless of sport or gender. Programs should reflect current best practices in athletic performance, injury prevention, and age\-appropriate training methodology.

The Coordinator is responsible for the daily supervision of the weight room and all summer conditioning sessions, ensuring a safe, organized, and positive training environment. Proper technique instruction is a core expectation of this role — all participants must be taught and held to appropriate safety standards in all lifts and movement patterns.

Working collaboratively with head coaches across all programs, the Coordinator will align training priorities with sport\-specific development goals, supporting athletes in areas including speed development, functional strength, movement mechanics, and injury prevention. Open communication with coaching staff is essential to ensure continuity between the summer program and in\-season preparation.

Qualifications: Candidates should have a background in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, or a related field, along with experience working with youth athletes. A genuine commitment to student\-athlete development — meeting each athlete where they are and supporting their individual goals — is essential.

This is a summer\-based position reporting to the Athletic Director.
