Deadline: July 31, 2026 District/Organization: LakeVille Community Schools Position/Type: Other, part time Salary: 25,000\-40,000 ### Position Details SUMMARY: LakeVille Community Schools is seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as the District’s Athletic Director. The ideal candidate would serve in an additional half\-time role in the district, such as teacher, coach, or operations. The position is anticipated to begin on August 1, 2026\. The LakeVille Board of Education will offer the successful candidate an annual salary range of $25,000 to 40,000, commensurate with their education, skill level, and prior experience. POSITION DETAILS: Responsible for managing the K\-12 Athletic Programs and providing leadership and oversight for the district’s athletic and extracurricular athletic programs. The position provides flexible hours due to the nature of athletic practices and games. The position ensures compliance with district policies, conference regulations, and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) guidelines while supporting a positive and inclusive educational environment for all student\-athletes. THE COMMUNITY: LakeVille is located in the northeast portion of Genesee County and is home to several parks, recreational areas, beautiful lakes, and scenic rivers. Notable features include Genesee County Parks, which boasts a large lake, campground, and the Southern Links Trailway is a 10\-mile hiking and biking rail\-trail that connects the communities of Columbiaville and Otter Lake. As a rural community, LakeVille is characterized by strong community ties and a spirit of collaboration. Numerous local organizations actively support the school community, fostering close partnerships between families, educators, and residents. Community pride is evident in enthusiastic participation in school and local events, and a strong sense of identity and tradition is celebrated by all generations. LakeVille offers a safe, secure atmosphere where individuals look out for one another and lifelong connections are forged. These enduring relationships and shared values create a supportive environment in which students and families thrive. THE DISTRICT: LakeVille Community Schools serves approximately 1025 students in PreK\-12th grade. The district has one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. LakeVille Community Schools also offers early childhood education serving 3 and 4\-year\-olds. All staff receive free early childhood education for 3 and 4\-year\-olds as well as free after\-school programming. The district has implemented “The Leader in Me” curriculum based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The district is a 1:1 technology K\-12 with all students having Chromebooks. The school culture and climate match the relaxed rural community feel. The district has an active, engaged, and supportive school board that is eager to provide the right resources to ensure the success of every child. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains a positive relationship with parents and the community Organizes and administers the overall program of extracurricular athletics for the district Oversees the selection, assignment, and evaluation of athletic coaches Assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all K\-12 athletic events and contests Coordinates all athletic practice schedules, along with building and district facility usage Hires officials, event workers, and security as required, and assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of home athletic events Serves as a representative at away athletic contests to supervise students and fans Develops and maintains the athletic code of conduct, including annual review and revisions Supervises all ticket sales and high school fundraising events Requisitions program supplies and equipment while maintaining an inventory of all equipment, supplies, and uniforms Prepares and administers the athletic program budget and other grant funds Performs other related duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Three (3\) years of related experience or comparable successful experience. High school diploma. Demonstrate advanced skills in computer utilization of educational materials and student information systems. Demonstrate advanced organizational and communication skills with students, parents, and staff. Must possess a positive work history. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience as an athletic director, preferred Teaching certification preferred. Five (5\) years of successful administrative experience, preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, educational journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, staff, administrators, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely, both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to operate computers, interactive technology equipment, and related software. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision.
