The Mental Health Supervisor (MHS) is a dual\-function clinical and administrative leader responsible for the psychological well\-being and behavioral framework of Amplus Academy. Reporting directly to the Secondary Principal with oversight from the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), the MHS provides direct, evidence\-based mental health therapy to students while supervising the Student Support Team (SSA and SSM). Using a strengths\-based, systems\-wide approach, the MHS manages the "Therapeutic Bridge" of the MTSS pyramid; linking school, home, and community resources to remove clinical barriers to academic success. Working alongside all school administrators, support staff, instructional staff, and other student support staff, the MHS provides leadership, supervision, and team\-support to positively impact students.
The Mental Health Supervisor will be expected to adhere to Amplus Academy’s professional standards as well as Nevada Department of Education and clinical licensure standards. Amplus Academy is a classical education charter school located in the southwest area of Las Vegas. Amplus Academy has two campuses serving Kindergarten\- 12th grade students.
*Terms of Employment*: varied 11\-month per Contract of Employment (203 Day Calendar)

The compensation for this position is in alignment with the Amplus Governing Board approved Salary Schedule; Salary Schedule based on years’ experience and degree held. Compensation for all positions are determined by the Governing Board and Administration of Amplus Academy. Consideration is given for experience and specialized skills in determining salary.
*Salary Range*: $65,000\-$90,000 with 100% Employer Paid PERS
*Supervisory Responsibilities*:
- Personnel Oversight: Directly manages, directs, and holds accountable the Student Support Advocate (SSA) and Student Support Monitor (SSM).
- Clinical Supervision: Oversees mental health interns and practicum students; provides clinical guidance for all Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavioral interventions. Facilitates Medicaid billing, when available.
- Program Leadership: Designs and implements the "Amplus Standard" for the Reset Room and restorative practices campus\-wide. Supervise the behavioral systems and practices for student behaviors for multi\-tiered systems of support, with an emphasis on Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS)
- Conduct Staff Meetings: Direct, facilitate, and/or attend staff meetings for student support department, for administrative meetings, and/or for staff training regularly

- Direct Clinical Services: Conducts goal\-oriented individual and group counseling for students with high\-level social\-emotional or mental health needs.
- Crisis Leadership: Leads school\-wide crisis response, including suicide/threat assessments (with academic counselors), safety planning, and emergency mental health interventions.
- MTSS Oversight: Manages the flow of students through the three tiers of support; audits the SSM’s Daily Reset Logs to identify students requiring escalation.
- Restorative Re\-entry: Partners with Assistant Principals to facilitate "Re\-entry Meetings" for students returning from suspensions or major safety incidents.
- Family \& Community Advocacy: Conducts home visits and develops parent support groups; serves as the primary liaison for community mental health agencies. Along with the student support team, identify problems in a child’s living situation (home, school, and community) that may affect the child’s adjustment, ability, and attendance in the educational setting.
- Chronic Absenteeism and Truancy Interventions:
- Staff Consultation: Provides professional development for teachers on trauma\-informed instruction and classroom management strategies.
- Compliance: Maintains audit\-ready clinical records; ensures all department activities abide by the NASW/NBCC Code of Ethics and Nevada State Board standards.

- Clinical Expertise: Mastery of adolescent psychopathology and evidence\-based modalities (CBT, DBT, Trauma\-Informed Care).
- Leadership \& Logic: Ability to use systems theory to identify organizational weaknesses and develop alternative intervention approaches for the department. Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high\-stress situations to create a pleasant experience for all stakeholders; and ability to negotiate with people with different or opposing viewpoints
- Conflict Negotiation: Exceptional interpersonal skills to maintain professionalism in high\-stress situations with upset stakeholders or opposing viewpoints.
- Data Fluency: Ability to interpret school\-wide behavioral software data (Infinite Campus, Bark/GoGuardian, Smartpass) to drive intervention decisions.
- Operational Management: Strong time\-management skills to balance a full clinical caseload with the administrative supervision of staff.
- Ethics \& Confidentiality: Deep understanding of HIPAA/FERPA and the ability to maintain a strictly ethical, student\-centered environment. - Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours necessary for the efficient operation of the department and to meet the needs of the school community.

- Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy required
- Licensure: State of Nevada Clinical License required (LCSW, LSW, LMFT, CPC, or LMSW)
- DOE Certification: Nevada Department of Education Mental Health Therapist, School Social Worker, or School Counselor endorsement required. Will consider candidates with current clinical licensure who are able to secure DOE certification within a specified timeframe
- Experience: Minimum of five (5\) years of experience as a licensed mental health professional, with at least two (2\) years in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a school setting
- Certifications: Current in\-person CPR/AED certification required at time of employment
