JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT I (ACCT2026\-82\-001\)
Junior Accountant I \- Part Time: Hyattsville, MD \- based accounting services company seeks a talented, dependable professional to assist the accounting team with day to day activities.This is NOT a remote position. All staff are expected to work on site.
FLSA: Exempt position. Office hours are Monday\-Friday (between 9:00a\-9:00p) and Saturdays (9:00am\-3:00p) Overtime evening or weekend work may be required during heavy work periods.
*About the Role:*
As the Junior Accountant I, you effectively and efficiently manage and participate in day to day activities of our clients. In this role, you provide support to management, communications, and operations by implementing administrative systems, cash management procedures, and execute bookkeeping activities which contribute to assisting us with remaining the trusted accounting partner of many.
In this role, you are a person of integrity working in a professional manner, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality, and demonstrating exceptional administrative and organizational skills. Your capacity to understand and anticipate the needs of your team contributes to your active approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities include:
ADMINISTRATIVE (15%):
● Ensures effective telephone and electronic communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image
● File Maintenance
● Human Resources Tasks as assigned
● Participates in special projects as needed
ACCOUNTING SUPPORT (85%):
● Day to Day Financial Data Entry
● Accounts Receivable \& Payable Support for our clients
● Support Accounting Department customer service and communication management
● Financial Reporting
REQUIREMENTS:
● Minimum of 2\-5 years of office or team management experience.
● Bookkeeping Experience
● Accounting office experience (preferred)
● Must be proficient in QuickBooks
● Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
● Proficient in MS Office, Google Systems, and Adobe.
● Must be accurate \& organized; meet deadlines; be detailed oriented with strong analytical skills. ● Self Starter that shows initiative
● Team player with ability to work independently.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ASSESSMENTS (KSA):
● High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; college degree a plus.
● Proven progressive working experience as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk ● Two\-Five years office management experience;
● Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
● QuickBooks proficiency ( Intermediate)
● Outstanding organizational and time management skills
● Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
● Excellent verbal and written communications skills
● Discretion and confidentiality
● Successful passage of background check
Salary: $23\.00/hour PLUS Bonuses and Employee Benefits; Starting salary will be re\-evaluated after evaluation period.
Benefits (PT Employees):

● Local Travel Stipend: $100/monthly ( must work 30 days and submit documentation of using public transportation in order to be approved)
