Benton Community is seeking a passionate, relationship driven, motivated, and student\-first individual to serve our students.
Associate may be expected to assist students in all areas of our Special Education Program \- self\-help, play skills, language, social development, motor or physical assistance, peer interactions, recess, all academics, bus, feeding, toileting, etc...This position will be a 1:1 position with a special education student.
Daily schedule will be designed and assigned by the building principal.
Daily direct report is to the special education teacher, and building principal.

If school is dismissed early or canceled for weather or other issues, support staff clock out and are not paid.
- JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: ASSOCIATE /Paraprofessional
REPORTS TO: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHING STAFF, BUILDING PRINCIPAL, SUPERINTENDENT
JOB GOAL: Assist students who have special needs, assist with implementing the IEP strategies, implementing behavior programs, collecting data, consulting with special education teacher, following directions from special needs teacher and building principal. Position many involve assisting student with hygiene, toileting, mobility, safety, behavior, supporting classroom learning.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1\. Administer, score, and record achievement and diagnostic tests as the teacher recommends for individual students.
2\. Supervise students on the playground, in the lunchroom, and at the bus line.
3\. Perform clerical duties including typing and filing.
4\. Supervise before and after school programs.
5\. Participate in in\-service training, as assigned.
6\. Help students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
7\. Alert the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
8\. Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
9\. Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
10\. Know emergency procedures for the building and classrooms in the assigned building.
11\. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
