To ensure the security, stability and integrity of in\-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services by planning, designing, developing, and troubleshooting local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization; to maintain the company’s in\-house IP telephony voice communication architecture and its associated network connections and component hardware; to configure and optimize VoIP/IP\-PBX telephone systems and services; to manage appropriate customer and third party relationships; and to monitor and maintain metrics and SLAs for all organizational IP telephony applications.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
- Implement and support VoIP infrastructure and its associated software, including VOIP, IP\-PBXs, call management systems, voice mail, and interactive voice response.
- Assist with design and deployment of company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other related hardware.
- Maintain network QoS to ensure effective delivery of converged services.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all current network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
- Assist in the deployment of new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Collaborate with systems engineers/architects/admins for upgrades to operating systems, hardware, etc.
- Monitor and ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and network appliances.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Monitor and test network performance and capacity, provide network performance statistics and reports, and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
- Participate in all network related management routines including network security, route/switch, wireless and telephony solutions.
- Manage/ensure backup \& recovery for network infrastructure devices/systems.
- Assist with the installation planning and maintenance of network cabling, including MDF and IDF closets, AP’s and network drops.
- Conform to all safety and confidentiality rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
- Tests and implement software.
- After hours, weekend, and holiday availability necessary.
- Takes major roles in various ITS projects as needed.
- Migrates and integrates acquired companies’ computing environments with existing Mauser environment.
- Travels to remote facilities as required for rollout projects or other needs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, network engineering, or information technology is preferred.
- 3\-5 years of experience in a similar role is required.
