Cal Pacific Truck Center (CPTC) is a commercial truck dealership that sells new and used trucks to private and municipal customers throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties. CPTC provides trucks for long term truck leases and shorter\-term rentals to meet the needs of customers of all sizes and applications. In addition to selling and leasing equipment, Cal Pacific Truck Center provides full\-service repair and parts support through our experienced employees and well\-equipped facilities. We have openings for a Staff Accountant to provide accounting and finance support to our organization.
Position Overview: The ideal candidate will have Advanced Excel skills, be detail\-oriented, highly organized, and possess strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our finance department, supporting various accounting functions including General Ledger maintenance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax Preparation, Inventory and Fixed Assets. This position is office\-based and requires on\-site work Monday through Friday; and it does not offer a hybrid or remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and ensuring accuracy of financial data.
Reconcile GL accounts on a regular basis, including bank reconciliations.
Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile them to the general ledger.
Assist with accounts payable functions including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
Assist with accounts receivable activities such as invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
Prepare and update monthly reports and financial statements as needed.
Assist with month\-end and year\-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accounting standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes.
Provide support during audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2\+ years of experience in accounting roles with exposure to GL, AP, AR, and Fixed Assets functions.
Advanced Excel skills.
Proficiency in accounting software.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
