Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service at all times
- Manage patient check\-in and check\-out processes using various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system: Open Dental, DTX
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification
- Schedule appointments efficiently while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily clinic flow
- Handle multi\-line phone systems with professionalism, maintaining clear communication and accurate documentation of patient inquiries
- Collect payments, process dental collections, and help with dental billing
- Maintain accurate dental records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing dental records in accordance with health information management standards
- Support intake procedures by collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Proven experience in a dental or medical office environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and dental administrative procedures
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; clinic experience is considered an asset
