Survey Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail\-oriented Survey Technician to join our dynamic surveying team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting accurate field data, operating advanced surveying equipment, and supporting a variety of land surveying projects. Your expertise will help ensure precise measurements and detailed mapping for construction, land development, and infrastructure projects. Duties Process and reduce field data from total stations, data collectors, and GPS/GNSS receivers per Contor standards. Write metes and bounds descriptions and prepare survey exhibits per Texas survey standards. Draft topographic surveys, subdivision plats, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction documents in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Conduct records research using county clerk records, GLO archives, and TxDOT ROW maps. Interpret deeds, easements, and recorded plats to support boundary analysis. QC field observations; coordinate with field crews to identify and resolve discrepancies. Maintain project files, as\-built archives, and digital records per company procedures. Assist the RPLS in preparing boundary surveys, plats, and other licensed deliverables. Maintain clear communication with personnel across Contor's office locations to support cross\-office project coordination. Skills 2\+ years in a survey office production role, preferably in Texas. Proficient in writing metes and bounds per Texas survey standards. Strong technical math skills: geometry, algebra, and trigonometry. AutoCAD Civil 3D required; Bentley OpenRoads and ESRI software a plus. Experience with county appraisal district portals, county clerk records, and GLO archives. Knowledge of Texas survey laws, TBPELS regulations, and platting requirements. CST or SIT certification preferred. Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, or equivalent a plus. Construction layout and data processing experience preferred. Prior field crew experience a plus Minimal travel may be required.
