- Be a Florida Certified Police Officer.

- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Military applicants must present proof of honorable discharge or release.
- Possess a valid driver’s license from any U.S. state at time of application provided, prior to appointment, a valid State of Florida Class E, or higher, Driver License is obtained.
- Be of good moral character pursuant to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, (FDLE) with no felony convictions. No misdemeanor convictions involving “moral turpitude”.
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Have a safe driving record.

The City of Mascotte is a growing municipality located in beautiful Lake County, Florida. The City is approximately 10 square miles with an estimated population of 7,500\. Mascotte is primarily a residential community with a very small central business district area. The City is governed by a five (5\) person council, all are elected at\-large. The City Manager is the chief administrative and executive officer of the city and its operations.
Police Department
The City of Mascotte Police Department is staffed with 18 sworn officers and three civilian employees. Communications are provided by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
General Description
Performs professional law enforcement work to maintain order to protect the public, maintain law and order in the community, detect and prevent crime, direct and control traffic, and investigate and apprehend suspects involved in criminal activity.
