The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating a robust community relations strategy, with a particular focus on building relationships with community partners, civic engagement, community outreach, and engaging Jefferson County residents. The Coordinator will reach out to community members and create opportunities for them to engage and be a part of our civic fabric. This role will be crucial to increasing community trust and involving Jeffco residents in defining the county’s future. The work will focus on engagement around county elections, as well as several other front\-facing county services. The Community Engagement Coordinator will work to develop and implement initiatives that increase accessibility and transparency with a focus on practices that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion. This position must protect privacy and confidentiality.Schedule: This position is largely a 4\-day workweek with 10\-hr days but requires a flexible schedule with some weekend and evening work as community events require. During some parts of the year, up to one day a week of remote work may be available. This position will require occasional work outside of the standard 4\-day, 10\-hour schedule to support community events, outreach activities, and other operational needs throughout the year.
Hiring Range: 60,000 \- 70,000 USD Annual

Essential Duties
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies that increase voter education, registration, and turnout, as well as understanding of and participation in Clerk and Recorder services.
- Establish and develop strong relationships and alliances with community groups, schools, government, education, corporations, nonprofit entities, and other organizations to be a key partner in the civic life of Jefferson County. This includes strengthening existing relationships with partners to identify new ways of working together.
- Independently organize outreach events, meetings, and initiatives, including identifying opportunities, arranging logistics, and managing staffing.
- Recruit, train, coordinate, and manages a robust group of volunteers, election workers, partners, and other passionate community members who help maximize our impact.
- Physically attend and works local events, including evenings and weekends as needed. This includes conducting voter registration and providing accurate, nonpartisan information about Colorado elections at community events and tabling opportunities.
- Promote public trust in elections and the Clerk's office by supporting transparent, accurate, and timely outreach and education.
- Collaborate cross\-functionally with other divisions as well as other counties to align and amplify engagement efforts.
- Identify and remove barriers to participation, including language, transportation, digital access, cultural, and economic barriers.
- Manage stakeholder databases, outreach lists, and engagement tracking systems to support strategic communication and relationship management.
- Collects, analyzes, and maintains data to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and inform future program development.
- Represent the Clerk’s Office at partner meetings and community gatherings, sharing resources and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in community organizing/engagement, or related experience;
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Or an equivalent combination of education \& experience.
- Three to five years of community organizing/engagement experience
- Knowledge of and experience working within Jefferson County’s neighborhoods and community groups
- Experience in civics, democracy, elections or a related field
- Bilingual ability in Spanish strongly preferred
- Experience and comfort engaging community members in various formats, including one on one, small groups, and public settings
- Ability to articulate clearly and effectively to stakeholders with diverse backgrounds in a variety of professional to informal settings
