JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Medical Front Desk Receptionist

Location: Clarksville, TN

Job Summary:

As a Medical Front Desk Receptionist, you will play a vital role in creating a positive, recovery\-focused environment by delivering outstanding customer service, supporting access to care, and helping individuals feel seen and valued. This position offers the opportunity to build strong administrative skills in a behavioral health setting, collaborate with clinical teams, gain experience with electronic medical records (EMR), and contribute directly to improving client experiences. We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail\-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others.

In this role, you will manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, registering clients, verifying insurance, and supporting telehealth services. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, handling confidential information, and ensuring smooth daily clinic operations while providing a high level of professionalism both in person and over the phone.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome clients and create a positive first impression by delivering excellent customer service in a behavioral health setting
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage appointments for clinical staff to ensure efficient clinic operations
  • Answer and manage a multi\-line phone system, responding to client inquiries with professionalism and care
  • Register clients in the electronic medical record (EMR) system and verify demographic and insurance information
  • Collect copayments and document financial transactions accurately
  • Provide support for telehealth appointments, including basic technology troubleshooting
  • Research and verify insurance benefits and assist with identifying alternative payer sources as needed
  • Prepare, scan, and manage documentation in accordance with health information management (HIM) standards
  • Maintain organization of front desk operations and cross\-train to support neighboring locations when needed
  • Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in a medical front office, healthcare administration, or customer service role preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required

  • Strong communication skills across verbal, written, in\-person, and virtual interactions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast\-paced clinical environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
  • Team\-oriented mindset with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Basic technical proficiency with computers, scheduling systems, and office software
  • Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for extended periods (approximately 80% of the shift)
  • Standing for periods throughout the day (approximately 20% of the shift)
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and squatting
  • Occasional driving as needed for coverage across locations
  • Occasional lifting associated with office tasks

    $14\.25\-$20\.00
