Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Auditor
Watermark Risk Management is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Auditor to provide audit, compliance, and analytical support to the Office of Special Investigations (OSI), Criminal Justice Information Center (AFCJIC). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the criminal justice audit process, regulatory compliance, data analysis, and coordination with multi\-level stakeholders to ensure adherence to Federal, Department of Defense (DoD), and Department of the Air Force (DAF) policies.
This position supports the AFCJIC as a subject matter expert (SME) in auditing, compliance, and oversight of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) systems and related DAF indexing programs. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to the Federal, DoD, and Air Force policies through comprehensive evaluation of system use, records management, and organizational processes. This position is contingent upon a successful contract award.
In this role you will…
- Conduct audits of CJIS systems and user activities, including monthly and annual validations and record verification, ensuring compliance with CJIS polices and federal requirements.
- Review and validate AFCJIC MAJCOM records and entries to ensure accuracy, completeness and adherences to established procedures and data quality standards.
- Engage and provide support to assist and participate in Inspector General (IG) inspections and Staff Assistance Visits (SAV).
- Work in concert with CHRI Data Manager to compile and provide analytical reports regarding compliance results from audits.
- Coordinate with MAJCOM teams to monitor field\-level compliance and assist the DAF CJIS Systems Officer in conducting virtual and on\-site terminal audits in accordance with FBI CJIS Security Policy, identifying and mitigating compliance risks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience conducting audits, preferably in:
- Demonstrated experience conducting records audits of system use (e.g., user activity, data integrity, compliance with policy).
- Familiarity with CJIS or similar criminal justice information systems is highly desirable.
- Experience with data analysis and producing analytical compliance reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for audit tracking and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (criminal justice, accounting, information systems, or related field.)
- Active Top\-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Reports to a physical location and requires the ability to traverse between buildings
- 10% Travel Required
- May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism
- Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
