CTE Health and Medical Sciences Teacher
11\-month position (220 days)

Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Health and Medical Sciences Education teacher position that is available at Blacksburg and Auburn High Schools for the 26\-27 school year.
This is an 11\-month position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach Health Occupations courses to high school students based on current industry standards and state curriculum
- Facilitate student development and application of leadership, social, civic, and content\-specific skills through the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), the co\-curricular Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for health and medical science education
- Manage technology and curriculum
- Maintain program, student, and instructor compliance with state laws and regulations from the appropriate governing medical board or agency. (e.g., Virginia Board of Nursing, Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services, Virginia Department of Health Professions, Board of Pharmacy, American Society of Health\-System Pharmacists/Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education)
- Facilitate clinical placement of students through collaboration with post\-secondary and industry partners
- Work cooperatively with others in the education setting
- Prepare students for employment or further education
- Hold a current, unrestricted Virginia license or multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse
- Have two years of experience as a registered nurse and at least one year of direct client care or supervisory experience in the provision of long\-term care services. Experiences may include employment in a nurse aide education program or employment in, or supervision of nursing students in, a nursing facility or unit, geriatrics department, chronic care hospital, home care, or other long\-term care setting.
- Graduated from an approved program of study for the preparation of health care professionals.
- Eligible for a teaching license in Health and Medical Sciences Education
- Have strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students and parents
- Experience fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or a medical discipline
- Previous teaching experience
- Technical knowledge and ability
- Eligibility and experience with dual enrollment

FLSA Status: Exempt
SALARY: $58,115\.58 \- $93,478\.64 annually; with benefits; commensurate with experience (salary may change due to 2026\-2027 budget considerations)
