About the Doctors and Our Mission
You will work under the direct mentorship of highly specialized clinicians who are leaders in neuro\-optometry and vision development. Our doctors are dedicated to a whole\-person approach, blending clinical excellence with a boutique, patient\-first atmosphere. We specialize in complex visual dysfunctions, including traumatic brain injuries (TBI), children with learning disabilities and binocular vision dysfunction. We value open communication, a high clinical IQ, and a team member eager to master the complexities of neuro\-rehabilitation.
The Role
In this hybrid role, you will be the "glue" that connects our clinical excellence with our administrative efficiency. You will provide direct support to the doctors through expert scribing and clinical flow, while collaborating with our Practice Manager to ensure seamless patient documentation and records management.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Intake and Diagnostics
* Patient Intake: Greet patients and families, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
* Comprehensive History: Obtain and document detailed patient histories, including chief complaints, ocular history, and relevant medical or developmental backgrounds.
* Neuro\-Optometric Pre\-testing: Perform specialized pre\-testing and workups including (but not limited to) binocular screening and other specialized diagnostic assessments as directed by the doctors
* Patient Care: Assist the doctor during evaluations, follow\-up exams, and the communication of clinical instructions to patients or parents.
Clinical Scribing and Documentation
* Real\-Time Charting: Assist doctors with real\-time scribing during evaluations to ensure high\-quality, accurate clinical notes.
* Report Preparation: Help prepare detailed patient clinical evaluation reports with high attention to detail.
* EMR Management: Maintain and organize Electronic Health Records (EHR) with high attention to detail.
Coordination and Administration
* Records Coordination: Proactively request, track, and organize medical records from external providers, such as neurologists, OTs, and PCPs.
* Clinical Admin Support: Collaborate with the Practice Manager to manage the "laundry list" of clinical tasks, including intake verification and data management.
* Environmental Oversight: Ensure specialized diagnostic equipment is maintained and pre\-testing rooms are sanitized and prepared for every patient.
Qualifications
* Experience: Minimum of 1\-2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting is required.
* Professionalism: High level of professional maturity and stability (ideally seeking an established professional).
* Technical Skills: Strong writing or scribing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Compliance: Must be open to and pass a comprehensive background check.
