POSITION SUMMARY \& PURPOSE
The Elementary Assistant Principal is responsible for the day\-to\-day operation of all aspects of the Elementary School. The Assistant Principal is responsible for the leadership, coordination, supervision, and management of the school program and operation for elementary grades. The Assistant Principal is responsible for the organization, operation, and management of the Summer School program.

- Serve as a visible and engaged leader throughout the school day, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, and transition periods.
- Serves as the lead principal overseeing the planning and implementation of summer school
- Lead and manage the Student Services Team, including the Dean of Students, behavior support staff, social workers, counselors, mental health liaisons and behavior interventionists.
- Use data to identify trends in student behavior and develop proactive strategies to reduce incidents and promote positive behavior.
- Use assessment data to improve student learning (7\.2\)
- Clearly communicate student progress and maintain records (7\.5\)
- Maintain facilities that are safe, adequate, efficient and conducive to learning.
- Ensure coordination of services and supports for students with academic, behavioral, or social\-emotional needs.
- Requires a master’s degree in Secondary Education, Educational Administration, or a closely\-related field.
- Missouri Administrative certification is preferred.
- Experience teaching in an urban school environment preferred.
- Experience teaching historically underserved populations (or historically marginalized populations) with a record of positive academic improvement is preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and/or equivalent software.
- The Assistant Principal will demonstrate an understanding of how school operations and administration support instruction.
- The Assistant Principal will make sure school procedures are clearly understood and implemented serve a single purpose – to support pursuit of student academic outcomes.
- The candidate must be self\-reflective, as well as fair and respectful of others. While the Assistant Principal will be adept at giving affirming and adjusting feedback fairly and respectfully, s/he will also be self\-reflective and accept feedback from the Board, Superintendent, teachers, school staff, and others in the same spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility for future outcomes.
- This position may require sitting, standing, and walking for intermittent periods, as well as moderate dexterity in operating standard office equipment (e.g., computer, printer, copier).
- This position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and speaking.
School Leadership \& Operations
Support the implementation of school\-wide systems and routines that promote a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment.

Collaborate with the Principal and leadership team to develop and implement strategic goals aligned with the school’s mission and values.

Assist with staff coaching, professional development, and support around classroom management and student engagement.

Student Services Oversight
Oversee the implementation of the school’s behavior and discipline systems, grounded in restorative practices and trauma\-informed care.

Respond to student behavior referrals and ensure appropriate and consistent follow\-through, including documentation and family communication.

Serve as the point person for student discipline, including planning and managing re\-entry meetings, restorative conferences, and student support plans.

Facilitate regular meetings with the Student Services Team to review data, align interventions, and support student progress.
