Central Washington Lawyers, PLLC is a small, close\-knit firm serving clients in family law, bankruptcy, and estate planning. We help people through some of life's most significant transitions \- divorce, custody, financial hardship, and planning for the future. We are growing and looking for a dedicated team member to join us in a combined Legal Assistant/Paralegal Case Manager role supporting our family law practice.
This is a full\-time, in\-office position. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. Benefits are available after completing 12\-months of employment.
No legal experience required \- on\-the\-job training provided.
About the Role
This is a dual\-function position. You will handle both the day\-to\-day administrative coordination of a legal assistant and the substantive casework support of a paralegal. If you are detail\-oriented, and genuinely care about helping families through difficult times, we want to hear from you.
Duties
- Manage active family law case files from onboarding through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and correspondences for attorney review
- Coordinate client communication, follow\-ups, and scheduling
- Maintain and monitor case deadlines and court calendars
- Coordinate court filings and ensure compliance with procedural requirements in different jurisdictions
- Prepare and e\-file documents with the court
- Conduct legal research on various topics and summarize findings for the attorney
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Review documents for accuracy, proofread legal drafts
- Organize and manage discovery documents and exhibits
- Support attorney preparation for hearings and trials
- Maintain accurate records in the firm's case mnanagement system and paper files
- Provide administrative support such as data entry, scheduling appointments, and managing phone etiquette
- Strong written and verbal communication sklls
- High attention to detail and organizational discipline
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
- Professionalism and discretion with sensitive client matters
- Keen proofreading and typing abilities to ensure accuracy
- Comfort with Microsoft Office applications and digital tools
- Effective interviewing skills combined with strong phone etiquette for client interactions
- Spanish language skills a plus
- Pay: Starting at $24\.00/hr \- higher rates available based on experience
- Full\-time, Monday \- Friday
