Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Team Lead to oversee clinical operations within our urgent care facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As a CMA Team Lead, you will coordinate daily clinical activities, support staff development, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards while maintaining a focus on patient service excellence.
Duties
- Supervise and mentor medical assistants and clinical staff to promote high\-quality patient care and efficient workflow.
- Oversee patient intake procedures, including registration, vital signs measurement, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Assist with clinical tasks such as administering medications, performing X\-rays, collecting specimens, and managing basic life support protocols.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters, including ICD coding and medical terminology entries.
- Coordinate with physicians and healthcare providers to facilitate smooth clinic operations across outpatient settings, including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine environments.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and healthcare regulations pertinent to Level I Trauma Centers, Level II Trauma Centers, and other specialized units such as PICU or Geriatrics.
- Lead efforts in inventory management of medical supplies and equipment to support inpatient and outpatient services efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care procedures, and emergency medicine practices.
- Proven experience in medical administrative support within fast\-paced clinical environments.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X\-ray operation or medication administration are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medical terminology relevant to inpatient and outpatient care settings.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and data management.
- Experience working within hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or specialized units like PICU or Geriatrics is preferred.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations.
