WordPress WebOps Builder (Divi \+ WooCommerce) — We Pay You During Trial Month → WebOps Lead / Platform Ops Track

Company: NE6 LLC (New England Connect LLC / NE6™)

Location: Remote (U.S. preferred, not required)

Job Type: Contract\-to\-hire (ramped growth track)

Start: 30\-day paid trial → 90\-day contract → 8\-month contract → long\-term track

The Opportunity (read this first)

This is a “builder seat” with a professional ops path. We’re looking for one person who wants to start lean, earn trust fast, and grow into the internal operator who helps run our WordPress ecosystem as it scales.

You won’t be dropped into chaos and told “fix everything.” The first month is a paid, structured ramp: meetings \+ discovery \+ a Phase 2 execution plan. If it’s the right fit, the role grows into real ownership.

Phase 1 Compensation (30\-Day Paid Trial)

* $500 flat for the first 30 days

  • Approx.
  • 6 hours/week (≈ $20–$21/hr equivalent)

    * Paid upon completion of the 30\-day trial period

  • If we’re aligned, we’ll confirm the next contract phase
  • before the trial ends

    * Hours increase each phase, and pay can increase based on performance and fit

    * Meeting\-heavy month: expect \~2–3 hours/week in working sessions with the owner; the remaining time is independent review/work

    What You’ll Own (Internal\-First WebOps)

This is primarily a WordPress WebOps role. Divi (Elegant Themes) experience is required because it’s used on key properties (including our NE6 parent site and marketplace property), but not every internal property uses Divi—so you must be comfortable operating across multiple WordPress builds.

You’ll support and evolve NE6’s internal properties, including:

  • NE6 parent company website (WordPress \+ Divi)
  • New England Connect platform ecosystem (main platform site \+ support site \+ marketplace property)
  • Other internal projects as they come online
  • You’ll work like an operator: stability, clarity, documentation, safe updates, controlled changes, and steady improvement.

What You Should Already Know (baseline expectations)

You should already be comfortable with:

  • WordPress admin and troubleshooting basics
  • Common WP plugin patterns, site hygiene, and responsible update habits
  • Divi editing (layout discipline \+ responsive cleanup)
  • Baseline WooCommerce familiarity
  • ACF and performance basics are a plus
  • You do not need to know our specialized plugin stack on day one. You do need to learn it quickly and document what you learn in a way that helps the company.

The Ramp (how the role grows)Phase 1 — 30 days: Orientation \+ Map the Ecosystem \+ Build the Phase 2 Plan

This month is about fit and fundamentals. You’ll:

  • Get oriented to all internal properties and what each is meant to do
  • Identify what’s stable vs. in\-progress and where the real risks/opportunities are
  • Flag true urgencies (broken forms/flows/pages, obvious conflicts) and fix urgent items
  • with approval

  • Establish a lightweight operating rhythm: how changes get requested, reviewed, tested, shipped, and documented
  • Produce a Phase 2 plan we can actually execute with the hours available
  • Weekly working sessions with leadership for Q\&A, alignment, and decisions
  • Phase 1 success looks like: you communicate clearly, you work safely, you think like an owner, and you leave us with a confident Phase 2 plan (plus a small number of approved quick wins if time allows).

    Phase 2 — 90 days: Execution \+ Ownership Begins

Hours expand. You implement the plan: steady WebOps cadence, prioritized improvements, clearer documentation, fewer surprises, deeper platform\-property support where needed.

    Phase 3 — 8 months: Core Operator \+ Platform/Marketplace Readiness

You become the internal owner. Systems, standards, documentation, stability, scalability, and readiness planning that supports marketplace growth.

    Phase 4 — long\-term transition (earned)

If the year is a strong mutual success, we discuss long\-term employment and leadership scope. For exceptional mutual fits, deeper long\-term arrangements may be explored. Nothing is promised—this is earned through performance and commitment.

Optional Upside (separate from your paid role)

Contractors may optionally earn up to 25% referral commission by promoting a personal tracked discount code on their own time (unpaid by NE6\). This is optional and not the purpose of the role; your paid work is internal WebOps ownership.

How to Apply (answer directly — we read carefully)

  • What WordPress WebOps have you owned long\-term (maintenance \+ improvements \+ updates)?
  • What’s your Divi experience level, and what’s one challenging Divi issue you solved?
  • What’s your process for updates (backups/testing) so production doesn’t break?
  • In a meeting\-heavy first month, how do you stay organized and still deliver progress?
  • Why do you want a ramped 12\-month path (trial → contracts → long\-term track)?
  • What kind of responsibility do you want to grow into over the next year?
  • Strong Signal You’re Serious (recommended before applying)

Spend 20–30 minutes exploring our ecosystem and interacting with our on\-site chat assistants so your application is grounded:
