CNA

Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under direct supervision. Assists patients with activities of daily living, providing for personal care, comfort and assistance when necessary. Sufficient previous clinical experience preferred. Post high school vocational / specialized training, current CNA certificate in the state where employed, CPR certification. Duties: Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards Performs basic nursing procedures, including collection of lab specimens, thermal applications, non\-sterile soaks, application of simple dressing and perineal care Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration, pulse, intake and output Assists in admission, transfer and dismissal procedures of the patient Provides personal care assistance to patients, including, but not limited to, bathing, dressing, eating, bed pans, transportation, skin, oral and hair care along with positioning Keeps the patient’s room straightened and clean Maintains patient documentation as outlined by hospital policy Maintains confidentiality of all patient data Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of medical treatment Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy Participates in educational programs and in\-service meetings as required Flexible in doing other ancillary services such as housekeeping, ward clerk, etc. All language during assigned working hours shall be English unless otherwise directed by supervisor on a case by case basis Shall perform any and all other duties, within your scope of practice, as assigned by those appointed to a position over you Knows and follows patient rights Working Conditions: + Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness) + Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances + May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases + Carry out infection Control Standards This position is an on‑site role and is not eligible for remote or telecommuting work.
