Overview Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Specialist and HR Assistant, where your expertise will drive accurate payroll processing and seamless human resources support. In this vital role, you will manage payroll systems, ensure compliance with labor laws, and assist with HR functions that foster a positive and productive workplace environment. Responsibilities Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll platforms, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Maintain and update employee records within HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll software, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws by staying current on legal requirements related to payroll tax, wage laws, and benefits administration. Reconcile accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, debits \& credits, and double\-entry bookkeeping. Manage benefits administration tasks such as enrollments, changes, and inquiries while supporting employee questions about payroll deductions and benefits. Assist with accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, non\-profit accounting (if applicable), and governmental accounting procedures. Support time \& attendance systems like Kronos or similar platforms for accurate tracking of employee hours and leave management. Perform data entry with precision using 10\-key typing skills to ensure all payroll information is correctly recorded. Collaborate with the HR team on onboarding processes, employment verification, and maintaining compliance with labor law regulations. Contribute to financial analysis by preparing reports related to payroll expenses, tax filings, and labor costs for management review. Skills Extensive experience working with payroll systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian or similar platforms supported for payroll processing. Strong knowledge of employment \& labor law compliance and payroll tax regulations across different jurisdictions. Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks or equivalent financial tools; familiarity with governmental accounting standards is a plus. Demonstrated ability in general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable management, and bookkeeping practices. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10\-key typing is essential. Solid understanding of benefits administration processes and human resources functions within an organizational context. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data accurately; strong attention to detail is critical for account reconciliation and audit readiness. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments on payroll issues or HR inquiries; knowledge of HRIS platforms like PeopleSoft or UltiPro is advantageous.
