The Assistant Director of New Hope Education Center is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the Director of New Hope Education Center, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Function: The Assistant Director of the New Hope Education Center serves as a collaborative leader assisting the Director in overseeing and coordinating a diverse portfolio of educational programs. This role provides critical support to all building programs, including the Paulding Virtual Academy (PVA), ALFAS, Hospital/Homebound, the Phoenix Program, and the Paulding College and Career Academy (PCCA). The Assistant Director provides leadership and accountability in working with stakeholders to develop and improve instructional programs, with a specialized focus on online instruction, student services, and technology. Furthermore, this role works toward individual students' academic success by leveraging available academic supports and maintaining strong communication with parents to address their needs.

Qualifications:

Must hold or be eligible for a Georgia L\-5 leadership certification or higher

Minimum of three (3\) years of successful administrative experience, building\-level administrative experience, preferred

Must have good organizational skills, people skills, and the ability to help supervise a staff.

Strong knowledge of best practices of online and blended learning/instruction.

Familiarity with online learning technologies, including learning management systems, synchronous learning tools, and other web\-based learning software.

Essential Functions:

Assists the Director of NHEC by helping to oversee the day\-to\-day operations and programmatic logistics across all New Hope Education Center pathways, with a specialized focus on the Paulding Virtual Academy.

Assists the Director in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation of faculty and staff.

Provides leadership and accountability in working with all school stakeholders, including teachers, parents, support personnel, students, and community members, to achieve the program's goals.

Partners directly with secondary school schedulers, counselors, and administrators across the district to coordinate student enrollment, master scheduling, and seamless transitions into non\-traditional pathways.

Oversees the implementation and coordination of the state standardized testing process and ensures high student participation rates.

Assists with the coordination and delivery of Special Education services with the Student Services Department to ensure that the program is in compliance with state and federal laws.

Collaborates with Teaching and Learning leadership and the Assistant Director of CTAE to ensure alignment with programming, resources, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Assists in the gathering, compilation, and preparation of specialized data and routine reports regarding program efficacy and student outcomes, as requested.

Ensures that student records and data collections are properly maintained, completed, and issued as required/expected, such as grade reports, student enrollment, schedules, IEP/504, and SST and MTSS reporting.

Supports the complex logistical coordination and master scheduling required across multiple pathways (PCCA, PVA, ALFAS, etc.) to ensure a seamless student experience.

Supports the development of school and program improvement plans focused on student achievement and continuous growth.

Collaborates with the Director to plan, design, and facilitate high\-quality professional learning initiatives for faculty and staff that align with district strategic goals and adult learning principles.

Maintains high\-quality, proactive communication with stakeholders to promote the New Hope Education Center as a flexible school choice option, providing the targeted assistance necessary to meet diverse student needs and drive high levels of program participation.

Leads outreach initiatives, including the planning of recruitment events and the development of enrollment processes, to increase awareness and participation in the district's flexible school choice programs.

Attends and participates in school, district, state, and other meetings as necessary for the position or as directed by the Director of NHEC.

Develops and maintains supportive relationships with key technology, programming, and content vendors.

Assists the Director in monitoring program expenditures, managing resource requests, and supporting the development of the annual budget to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Board Policies.

Follows federal and state laws as well as Board Policies.

Ensures adherence to appropriate safety procedures and provides for a safe, orderly, and secure campus environment.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
