Job Purpose
The Legal Assistant Intern will work closely with our attorneys and paralegals to support day\-to\-day legal operations, conduct foundational legal research, and assist with active client matters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Legal Research \& Analysis: Assist in researching case law, statutes, regulations, and legislative histories relevant to ongoing cases.
- Document Preparation: Draft, format, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, briefs, and discovery requests.
- File Management: Maintain and organize both physical and digital case files, ensuring all documents are accurately indexed and up\-to\-date.
- Administrative Support: Assist with copying, scanning, scheduling client meetings, and processing legal mail/filings.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong data entry skills
- Eligible to work in the United States
Qualifications
Working Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Requirements
The ability to work in an office environment in front of a computer, while typing documents, responding to emails, managing calendars and answering phones.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, supplies, and files, up to 20 pounds.
