Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper to join our team. This vital role combines administrative support with comprehensive bookkeeping responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations and accurate financial management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, a team player, and possess strong attention to detail. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a high volume, rapidly growing CPA firm. The position will start as part time and will move to full time for the right candidate. Training will be in office and then remote work starts at the end of the summer. Candidate MUST have at least one year experience in Quickbooks Online. Pay depends on experience. Duties include:
- Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance using Quickbooks Online.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards when applicable
- Process payroll and sales tax accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions, supporting documentation, and audit trails for internal review or external audits
- Provide administrative support including managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining filing systems, and performing data entry tasks.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Proseries Tax Software, Sharefile, and Harvest.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits \& credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation
- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices as well as non\-profit or governmental accounting standards preferred
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with payroll processing and sales tax compliance is highly desirable
- Familiarity with public accounting procedures and technical accounting practices such as account analysis and budget monitoring
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast\-paced environment
- Strong communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating across teams
