Position Overview
We are a well\-established chimney services business seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead and professionalize our sales function. This is a high\-impact, ground\-floor leadership opportunity for a proven closer and team builder who thrives in a hands\-on, entrepreneurial environment.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building scalable sales processes, coaching our existing team, and personally contributing to winning new business. This role is ideal for someone who can balance the strategic with the tactical – someone equally comfortable presenting a proposal to a general contractor and running a weekly sales pipeline review.
Hours: 7\-4 Monday Through Friday, weekends as required
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and execute a sales strategy aligned with the company’s goal of 20–30% revenue growth over 2–3 years
- Define sales territories, target customer segments, and prioritize growth opportunities in the DC – Baltimore \- Annapolis metro markets
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and hold the team accountable to measurable outcomes
- Report directly to ownership with regular pipeline, forecast, and performance updates
- Manage, mentor, and motivate 2–5 sales and estimating staff
- Identify skills gaps and implement training programs to elevate team performance
- Recruit and onboard new sales talent as the team grows
- Instill a customer\-first, performance\-driven culture across the sales organization
- Leverage Priddy’s Field Service Management / CRM system to improve pipeline visibility and lead tracking
- Develop standardized estimating, quoting, and proposal workflows where needed; refine existing workflows when prudent
- Create repeatable sales playbooks, scripts, and objection\-handling guides
- Establish a structured follow\-up cadence to increase close rates on warm leads
- Personally manage and close a portfolio of high\-value accounts and strategic opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with general contractors, property managers, developers, and other key referral sources in the DC metro area
- Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and networking functions
- Identify cross\-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing customer base
- 5\+ years of B2B or B2C sales experience, with at least 2 years in a sales leadership or management role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Experience in trades, construction, home services, or a related industry strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the Washington, DC – Baltimore, Annapolis, MD markets
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and hold a small team accountable
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills – written, verbal, and in\-person
- Analytical mindset: comfortable with pipeline metrics, win/loss analysis, and revenue forecasting
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, JobNimbus, or similar); experience with HouseCallPro a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, scopes of work, or job specifications (or willingness to learn)
- Self\-starter with entrepreneurial energy who can work with limited administrative support
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
- Standing, bending, and operating warehouse equipment for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings
- Ability to pass a background check
- Comfort working in a field\-oriented, blue\-collar business culture
- Experience scaling a small sales team from 2–3 to 5\+ people
- Existing relationships with GCs, property management firms, or facility managers in the DC metro area
- Knowledge of service agreement / maintenance contract sales
- Estimating experience or understanding of job costing in trade work
- Experience with field service management software (e.g., HouseCall Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, or similar)
