Job Summary
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and proactive Part\-time Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial records, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded with proper debits and credits.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Reconcile bank statements and perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections while adhering to company policies.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accurate reporting of employee compensation.
- Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues such as accrual accounting, journal entries, and general ledger management.
- Contribute to mentoring junior staff or interns by sharing best practices in accounting procedures and software use.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or non\-profit accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; experience with Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards including SOX compliance and securities law is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and financial analysis accurately.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll and other financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
