Summary
Performs technical\-office assistant tasks required to prepare, process, maintain, and distribute time and attendance documents and records in the Office of Transportation Services; provides program information to employees related to time and attendance regulations, policies, procedures, and processes.
Qualifications
### Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
- Some experience in general office administration.
- Knowledge of basic math calculations.
- Ability to operate personal computers and related office equipment.
- Proficiency in common administrative software such as word processing, database management, and/or spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with quantitative information and verify accuracy.
- Ability to maintain complex records and to compile data from records.
- Ability to work independently in a fast\-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain information, data, and records with confidentiality.
- Good time management skills and detail oriented.
- Ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Experience in a transportation\-related capacity.
- Accurately records and reports on a bi\-weekly and monthly basis all Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) school bus drivers, transportation attendants, bus driver supervisors, and floaters' time and attendance work records.
- Reviews records and documentation as needed to process time and attendance transactions.
- Inputs time and attendance work records for all school bus drivers, van drivers, and attendants.
- Researches and monitors time and attendance issues and coordinates adjustments.
- Verifies and corrects time classification, calculations, and codes.
- Maintains and monitors the status and reporting of substitute, trainee, and full\-time drivers.
- Assists with the coordination of driver schedule adjustments.
- Maintains files of time/attendance/leave balances and records.
- Determines need for additional information and secures such information from established files or by contacting FCPS personnel.
- Processes verification and submission of bus driver recruitment bonus.
- Provides general and specific information on time and attendance related regulations, policies, procedures, and processes related to transportation services to FCPS employees.
- Prepares documents, forms, and correspondence related to the processing of time and attendance transactions requiring proficient data entry, word processing and/or spreadsheet construction skills.
- Studies directives and other materials pertaining to the business of transportation services in order to maintain awareness of new or revised procedures for processing transactions.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
+ Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
