Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruitingfor a Fish and Game Program Technician located in Haines, Alaska! What you will be doing:
Under general supervision of the Division of Commercial Fisheries Area Management Biologist, the Fish and Game Program Technician provides administrative, clerical, and technical support to Haines Area management and research programs within the Division of Commercial Fisheries, Division of Wildlife Conservation, and Sport Fish Division. This position serves as a primary point of contact for the public, providing current and accurate information on fish and wildlife regulations, management practices, and seasonal activities. Responsibilities include performing commercial fish ticket data entry and quality control, issuing fishing and hunting licenses, permits, harvest tickets, and locking tags, and collecting and recording harvest reports. This position also conducts sealing of harvested animals, including bears, moose, mountain goats, and furbearers, in accordance with regulatory requirements. In addition, this position serves as the sole administrative support for the Haines office, with responsibilities that include budget tracking, processing receipts, office management, and providing personnel support for staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of office clerical experience or technical experience related to fish, wildlife or habitat resources;
OR
One year of experience providing advanced clerical services based on established procedures, precedents, and policies in administrative, informative, and/or programmatic functions. This experience includes work such as an Office Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.
Substitution:
Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience).
