- Leading the Program Integrity and Compliance Section and safeguarding Wisconsin Medicaid by preventing, identifying, and investigating fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Administrative oversight responsibilities for section staff and related program integrity activities.
- Managing complex financial and compliance audits across diverse Medicaid provider types, including federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, and related agencies.

- Must have a valid driver's license;
- Must have minimum of two years non\-probationary licensed driving experience with a regular (Class D) driver’s license;

- Three or more moving violations and/or at\-fault accidents in the past two years;
- Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) citation within the past 12 months;

- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Inspector General Auditor, Certified Professional Medical Auditor, or Certified Fraud Examiner. Certification must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire.
- Experience using Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), or the Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General (PSOIG).
- Experience as a supervisor providing strategic leadership, performance coaching, and workflow implementation across multi\-level teams to meet organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare administration, public administration, or related field or commensurate experience.
- Experience using analytic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, to perform comprehensive reviews and investigations, assemble and analyze data, identify patterns, detect anomalies, and prepare tables, graphs or reports.
- Experience utilizing or interpreting State and Federal Medicaid regulations, including HIPAA, the False Claims Act, and Anti\-Kickback Statutes.

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is recruiting to fill the Assistant Inspector General of the Program Integrity and Compliance Section. This position has a flexible schedule and will primarily work Monday\-Friday with daytime hours, including at least 1 day in\-person at the 201 E. Washington Ave. office in downtown Madison each week. The OIG reports directly to the DHS Secretary and is charged with protecting the people of Wisconsin by preventing, detecting, and investigating fraud, abuse, and waste of public assistance programs such as Medicaid, FoodShare, WIC, IRIS, and FamilyCare.

Position Summary
As Assistant Inspector General of the Program Integrity and Compliance Section, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $47\.00 and $53\.41 per hour (approximately between $97,760 and $111,100 per year) or up to the appointment maximum at the time of the appointment, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. In addition, an add\-on up to $1\.00 per hour may be available for CPA Certification. A 24\-month Career Executive probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Financial Management Supervisor and is in pay schedule and range 81/02\.

Employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high\-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee’s headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.
