SPECIAL EDUCATION CASE MANAGER PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Special Education Records Specialist supports in the operation of the special programs office by compiling and providing efficient record keeping of special education files and other clerical services. Provides clerical support to Special Education Coordinator and Case Managers in a timely fashion, by creating, supporting, filing, and organizing special education documentation.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWorks with Registrars and Special Education Case Managers for all Ki campuses to identify Special Education and 504 students who have transferred from other schools.Maintains strict confidentiality with student records and information.Prepares and processes records Special Education and 504 records requests for all Ki students from both in\-state and out\-of\-state schools.Responds to records requests from other districts for withdrawn Ki students; transfers records as requested. Informs Case Managers for all Ki campuses as soon as records are received, and the status of obtaining records for each student. Understands and operates PEIMS and eSped.Compiles and maintains district special education files for each student in accordance with district guidelines, including electronic records systems.
Maintains audit files for special education students, including data entry, copying and filing.Participates in team meetings and required professional development activitiesProvides and maintains good public relations with team members, administration counseling staff, students, parents, and other school districts. Periodically pulls students throughout the week to monitor required remote services.Performed other duties as assigned.
