This position works as a daily contributor to the operations of the Benefits Division. Consults directly with customers, acting as a subject matter expert on enrollment and eligibility in various employee and retiree benefit programs with Fairfax County Government. Manages the verification and accurate data entry processing of incoming benefit election forms, dependent verification documentation, and documentation supporting qualified life events for both active employees and retirees in accordance with County regulations, or as governed by Section 125 of IRS Code. Supports the enrollment processing, invoicing, and reconciliation for additional benefit participant groups like COBRA, Direct Bill Retires, Affiliated Groups, and Line of Duty (LODA). Completes requested written benefits confirmations including HIPAA forms, CMS\-L564 forms. Supports the administration of Group Term Life Insurance and Long\-Term Disability Programs. Provides back\-up and support of the Leave Coordinator for administering the county’s FML and Leave programs along with LiveWell, and other senior Benefits staff. Assists with virtual and in\-person benefit\-based presentations and outreach events including New Hire Orientation, the Retiree Benefits Academy, Open Enrollment, and various LiveWell workshops.

Supervises a group of clerical/accounting personnel performing duties at the Asst. III level;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and four years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).

Job is generally sedentary with occasional on\-site visits to other county locations for hosting programs. Visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitors.
