The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for the physicians practice and will provide administrative support across the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
- Attend to patients at front desk.
- Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and triaging them appropriately
- Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patient’s arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information
- Scheduling appointments in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain security by following procedures and controlling access
- Update appointment calendars and schedule meetings/appointments
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, faxing etc.
- Participate in individual \& group projects as directed by management
- Other duties, as assigned
- Responsible for supporting the values and customer service standards of KCC.
- Accountable for outstanding customer service to all staff, clients and vendors
- Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
- Initiates action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant diploma preferred
- Associates degree preferred
- Previous experience in a similar capacity preferred
- Must be a self\-starter who can work independently yet function in a highly collaborative, fast\-paced team environment.
- Ability to multi\-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong data entry, organizational and interpersonal skills
- High integrity, team player with patient service focus and flexibility
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast\-paced setting; experience in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word and Excel a must
