Position Summary:

This internship provides hands\-on exposure to mechanical and heavy industrial construction across utilities, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. This role supports project planning, scheduling, field operations, document control, and performance reporting while gaining direct experience in water and wastewater related vertical construction, including treatment buildings, process structures, and equipment installation.

The role also offers valuable exposure to process mechanical construction such as piping systems, pumps, filtration equipment, chemical feed systems, and other mechanical components. This internship offers practical project management development skills in scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, and reporting while receiving mentorship from experienced project managers and superintendents.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supports and upholds the Company Safety and Code of Conduct Policies by encouraging safe work practices and professional behavior across project teams.
  • Assist with project Pre‑Planning (P3\), help update schedules, and support day‑to‑day coordination of tasks and workflows. This includes monitoring project progress, identifying potential conflicts, and helping the team address schedule or work interface issues; also contributes to the preparation of project performance reports and metrics such as KPIs and productivity tracking.
  • Review submittals for compliance and constructability, maintain logs, and prepare or process Request for Information (RFI), Potential Change Orders (PCO), purchase orders, and meeting documentation, as well as assemble project closeout materials including Operation \& Maintenance (O\&M) manuals and turnover packages, ensuring all final documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Work closely with field leadership team to support daily job site coordination, material tracking, and logistics. This includes requesting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor pricing, monitoring equipment and material deliveries, and assisting with procurement related tasks to ensure field operations remain on schedule.
  • Create reports, spreadsheets, studies, and other analytical documents that require research or data interpretation.
  • Perform general administrative functions that support project teams under active deadlines, contributing to both office and field based needs.
  • Hiring Qualifications:

  • Must be a Junior or Senior enrolled in a Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical bachelor's program with a strong interest in pursuing a career in construction.
  • Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and schedules is helpful but can be learned on the job.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Basic knowledge of SharePoint, Procore, AutoCAD, or Primavera P6 a plus.
  • Professionalism, the ability to multitask, and a valid unrestricted driver's license are required.
  • Possess strong communication, organizational, and problem\-solving abilities, and ability to interact professionally with field personnel, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • OSHA‑10 Certification (company\-supported if not current), valid unrestricted U.S. driver's license and ability to travel to job sites, successful drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review per federal/state regulations.
