Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is searching for a full\-time Administrative Assistant on its Bismarck, ND campus.
Hours: M\-F, 8 to 5 pm
Starting Pay: $18\+, DOE
What You Will Do: The Administrative Assistant – Bismarck Campus provides essential administrative, receptionist, and operational support to ensure the smooth daily functioning of the Bismarck Campus. Serving as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, this role helps create a welcoming and professional environment while supporting campus workflows, communication, scheduling, and office operations. The position upholds and models the organization’s culture of purpose, caring, and learning and plays a key role in fostering a positive experience for staff, residents, clients, and guests, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
PURPOSE
- Manage office supplies and office equipment, including copiers, postage meters, and related administrative systems.
- Develops and maintains processes and procedures for efficient and effective support of the Bismarck Campus and creates corresponding documents and tools to standardize and communicate with others, including, but not limited to procedure manuals, campus directories, vendor guides, and other supports for professional and efficient campus operations.
- Support scheduling of and preparation for meetings.
- Provide logistical or administrative support for campus meetings, trainings, and events as assigned.
- Follow established campus safety, visitor access, and sign‑in procedures; notify appropriate staff of visitor arrivals and concerns.
- Collaborate with campus partners to support efficient workflows and office operations.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems in accordance with organizational retention, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
- Serve as a point of contact for basic office technology support and coordinate service requests with internal or external vendors as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with implementation of updates to administrative practices.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and the highest level of integrity when handling sensitive resident, employee, and organizational information.
- Create a welcoming and professional environment by greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff.
- Demonstrate respect for all individuals and perspectives while supporting a trauma\-informed, compassionate workplace.
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, contractors, applicants, and callers.
- Answer general inquiries and direct guests to the appropriate staff in person or via the switchboard.
- Sort and distribute daily mail and assist with outgoing correspondence.
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
- Assist with new hire onboarding activities, including orientation preparation and coordination.
- Support sustainable excellence and continual improvement of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel), HR systems, and efficient with typing and data entry.
- Must be 21 or older at the time of application. High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a background check, including criminal, abuse \& neglect
- Must pass a motor vehicle check
- High school diploma or GED required
- One year of business\-related work experience required
