The Ideal Candidate for This Position
As the Dual Assistant General Manager for Aloft and Element Arundel Mills, MD, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing daily hotel operations across both properties. This position is responsible for driving operational excellence within Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering, while supporting the General Manager in achieving financial goals and delivering exceptional guest and associate experiences.
You will be a hands\-on leader who fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, ensuring brand standards are consistently met while maximizing performance across both hotels.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Creating and fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and a passion for service
- Supporting and overseeing daily operations across both properties to ensure efficiency and consistency
- Monitoring guest and associate satisfaction scores and developing action plans to address opportunities and build on strengths
- Ensuring all guest feedback, surveys, and service recovery efforts are handled promptly and professionally
- Being highly visible and accessible to guests and associates, delivering exceptional customer service
- Proactively addressing and resolving guest concerns
- Ensuring all team members meet or exceed brand and company service standards
- Assisting the General Manager with quality assurance audits and operational compliance
- Maintaining strong operational controls, including key control procedures and safety standards
- Reviewing financial reports, labor costs, and operational metrics to drive productivity and profitability
- Supporting recruitment efforts, interviewing candidates, and assisting with hiring decisions
- Ensuring onboarding and training programs are executed effectively and in a timely manner
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive hotel operations experience (Front Office, Housekeeping, or related area)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required; multi\-property experience a plus
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing labor and operating costs
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction and team engagement
- Ability to pass a background check
