Job Summary
The Northampton County Medical Society is seeking a strategic, creative, and results\-driven Social Media Manager to engage emerging medical students, residents, and physicians through social media platforms and personal engagement. The ideal candidate will manage and grow our virtual presence, strengthen relationships with current members, and support membership recruitment through targeted social media initiatives.
This role will work closely with the Executive Director to develop content, monitor engagement, and use storytelling to showcase the value and resources provided by the Northampton County Medical Society and its parent organization, the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED). Over time, this position will provide mentorship and training toward transitioning into the Executive Director role.

- Supporting members through research, guidance, web\-based physician\-patient portals, and health care operations advice
- Providing educational continuing education, leadership development resources, and licensure/DEA training information
- Advocacy for physicians and patients, including updates on regulations, patient safety, and state public health alerts
- Resources to address physician burnout, impairment, addiction recovery, and wellness
- Offering medical student scholarships, loans, and educational programs through the PAMED Foundation
- Develop, schedule, and post content across multiple social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, etc.)
- Engage with current and prospective members, monitor social media accounts, and respond to inquiries
- Use storytelling and creative strategies to communicate the value of membership and available resources
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic initiatives and social media campaigns
- Track engagement metrics, report performance, and optimize social media strategies
- Support administrative and office functions as needed
- Learn executive\-level management skills, including budgeting, fiscal management, endowment oversight, and working with the Board of Directors
- Prepare for a potential transition into the Executive Director role within approximately two years
- Proven social media management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and QuickBooks
- Strong communication, storytelling, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Interest in healthcare, professional societies, or non\-profit management is preferred
- Flexible schedule, with availability for occasional evening/weekend meetings
- Part\-time, remote position initially (10–15 hours/month)
- Flexible schedule; ideal for candidates managing another career or flexible commitments
- Some evening and weekend availability required, including the PAMED Annual Business Meeting in late October
- Opportunity for long\-term growth into a part\-time salaried Executive Director role (25–40 hours/week) with health benefits

- Create engaging content, including graphics, video clips, and storytelling posts that highlight member benefits, programs, and advocacy initiatives
- Monitor engagement, respond to inquiries, and foster a sense of community among members
- Track analytics and metrics to evaluate campaign performance and optimize outreach
- Work closely with the Executive Director to recruit and retain members through social media campaigns
- Highlight success stories, events, and educational opportunities to demonstrate NCMS’s value to current and prospective members
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for content generation and cross\-promotional efforts
- Assist in board communications, meeting scheduling, and preparation of materials for Board and member events
- Support office management tasks including document preparation, reporting, and basic bookkeeping
- Gain hands\-on experience in non\-profit management, budgeting, and fiscal oversight under Executive Director mentorship
- Receive training and mentorship from the Executive Director with the goal of eventually transitioning into the Executive Director position
- Learn leadership, management, and governance skills including working with a Board of Directors, overseeing budgets, and managing endowments

Position Overview
