Job Summary:
The CNA/GNA Program Coordinator/Instructor is responsible for both the administrative oversight and instructional delivery of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) training programs. This role ensures full compliance with Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON), Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), and COMAR regulations while delivering high\-quality education and preparing students for certification and employment.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland ( required)
- Must possess Nursing Instructor Certification or approved Train\-the\-Trainer certification (MBON\-compliant)
- Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience (long\-term care preferred)
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Oversee daily operations of the CNA/GNA program
- Ensure compliance with MBON, MHEC, and COMAR requirements
- Develop and maintain curriculum, schedules, and program documentation
- Coordinate clinical placements with affiliated healthcare facilities
- Maintain all required records for audits, approvals, and site visits
- Serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies (MBON, MHEC)
- Monitor student enrollment, retention, and certification pass rates
- Support admissions, orientation, and graduation processes
- Implement quality assurance and continuous program improvement
- Deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction per approved curriculum
- Develop and follow daily lesson plans aligned with state standards
- Demonstrate and supervise nursing assistant skills in lab and clinical settings
- Evaluate student performance (written exams, skills checklists, clinical evaluations)
- Ensure student safety and adherence to infection control practices
- Provide academic support, mentorship, and remediation as needed
