- Process all accounts payable transactions accurately using accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks, including invoice entry, coding, and approval workflows.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly to ensure timely payments.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, supporting documentation, and audit trails in compliance with SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) requirements.
- Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable activities, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and human resources teams to verify invoice accuracy and resolve payment issues efficiently.
- Assist in month\-end closing processes by reconciling accounts payable sub\-ledgers with the general ledger.
- Support audits by providing detailed reports and documentation related to accounts payable transactions and controls.
- Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits \& credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency with financial software including Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, PeopleSoft or Ceridian is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems and benefits administration processes.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as SOX and GAAP is essential.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency preferred).
- Strong analysis skills for account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new accounting software like Quicken or QuickBooks as needed.
