Additionally we support survivors of domestic violence and advance advocacy efforts to prevent abuse. Through community outreach, education, and survivor\-centered services, we work to create safer communities and empower individuals affected by domestic violence.
Position Overview
\\Please note that this role is a Volunteer position.\*\
- We are seeking a highly organized, detail oriented, and compassionate Secretary / Administrative Assistant to support daily operations. This role is essential in ensuring smooth office functioning while interacting with staff, partners, and occasionally survivors in a respectful and trauma informed manner. The ideal candidate is dependable, discreet, and committed to supporting a mission driven organization.
- Provide administrative support to leadership and staff, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating appointments.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and general inquiries with professionalism, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
- Maintain organized records, files, and documentation (both digital and physical), ensuring privacy and security.
- Assist with data entry, report preparation, and correspondence.
- Support coordination of events, workshops, and community outreach activities.
- Assist with internal communications and meeting notes.
- Uphold strict confidentiality, especially when handling sensitive information related to survivors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Administrative or office support experience (nonprofit experience a plus)
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) andGoogle Workspace.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
- Compassionate, respectful, and aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Experience working in a nonprofit, social services, or advocacy setting.
- Familiarity with trauma informed practices.
