We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Scheduling Coordinator to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the central hub for managing patient appointments, coordinating provider schedules, and ensuring seamless communication across clinical and administrative staff. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments across multiple providers using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and facilitate insurance verification processes.
  • Manage incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and providing appointment reminders.
  • Review and update medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with documentation review, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD\-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and medical coding to support billing processes.
  • Support front desk operations by managing multi\-line phone systems, filing patient records, and maintaining organized office files.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans and ensure timely patient intake and follow\-up appointments.
  • Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite to generate reports, update scheduling logs, and manage administrative documentation efficiently.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by providing clear communication and support to patients regarding appointment scheduling and clinic procedures.
  • Experience

  • Previous experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administrative support preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD\-9/10\), CPT coding, and medical billing processes is essential.
  • Experience working in a clinical or dental office environment with strong organizational skills.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in office management tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and handling multi\-line phone systems.
  • Prior experience with health information management systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous for dental clinics.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence and professionalism in all interactions.
