For Senior Engineers Who Are Done Being Underused

Read This First

If you’re a Level 3 Systems or Server Administrator currently working at an MSP and you’re:

  • Carrying the hardest tickets
  • Fixing other engineers’ mistakes
  • Leading projects without the title or credit
  • Burned out by ticket volume over quality
  • Treated as “replaceable” instead of respected
  • Then it’s time.

GRS Technology Solutions is not that kind of MSP.

We are purpose‑built for senior engineers who want quality, ownership, and respect — not chaos and churn.

Who We’re Looking For (Read Carefully)

We are only looking for Senior / Level 3 engineers currently working at another MSP or MSSP.

If you’re early‑career, junior, or still learning the basics — this is not the role for you.

This role is for engineers who:

  • Are the escalation point at their MSP
  • Own infrastructure, not just tickets
  • Make architectural decisions
  • Get pulled into “because you’re the only one who can fix it”
  • Are bored, stuck, or undervalued
  • If that sounds like you — keep reading.

    What Makes GRS Different

    Most MSPs say “people first.”

    We actually mean it.

    At GRS:

  • We value
  • quality over quantity

  • We protect our engineers from constant fire drills
  • We build relationships, not ticket factories
  • We put
  • employees first — always

  • Our clients trust our engineers, not scripts
  • We hire senior professionals, not bodies to fill queues.

    Role Overview

As a Senior Systems / Server Administrator, you will be part of our Senior Engineer or even our Cybersecurity \& Compliance Teams — the group responsible for critical infrastructure, escalations, and advanced projects.

    You will:

  • Serve as a
  • Level 3 escalation resource

  • Own server, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Lead and execute complex deployments and migrations
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert (SME) across multiple client environments
  • Help set technical standards and best practices across the organization
  • This is not a “ticket grinder” role.

This is a trusted engineer role.

    What You’ll Be Working With

    MSP Tooling (Real‑World Experience Required)

  • ConnectWise (ticketing / workflows)

  • RMM platforms such as:

  • NinjaOne
  • ConnectWise Automate
  • Similar enterprise‑grade RMM tools
  • Datto (or equivalent) for server backups and recovery

Infrastructure \& Platforms (You Must Be an SME)

    * Virtualization

  • VMware (ESXi, vCenter)
  • Hyper‑V
  • * Servers \& Infrastructure

  • Windows Server (modern versions)
  • Infrastructure design and deployment
  • Storage, backup, and DR planning
  • * Hybrid Environments

  • On‑prem \+ cloud integrations
  • Active Directory \+ Entra ID
  • * Microsoft 365

  • Admin portals (Commercial, GCC, GCC High experience a plus)
  • Identity, security, and tenant administration
  • You don’t just “touch” these technologies — you own them.

    What You’ll Actually Do

  • Resolve complex escalations that Level 1–2 can’t handle
  • Lead infrastructure projects from design to execution
  • Stabilize and modernize client environments
  • Serve as the senior technical authority on critical issues
  • Mentor other engineers (without being used as free labor)
  • Improve standards, documentation, and processes
  • Work with leadership as a
  • technical voice, not just an implementer

    Who You Are

You’re probably nodding while reading this.

    You are:

  • A
  • true senior engineer, not just “tenured”

  • Calm, methodical, and confident under pressure
  • Someone other engineers come to for answers
  • Tired of being stuck in a reactive MSP culture
  • Looking for a place where your judgment is trusted
  • You don’t need micromanagement.

You need respect, autonomy, and purpose.

    Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)

  • Currently working (or recently worked) as a
  • Level 3 engineer at an MSP/MSSP

  • Strong server and infrastructure background
  • VMware and/or Hyper‑V SME
  • Experience with hybrid environments
  • Deep familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration
  • Comfortable owning responsibility — not just executing tasks
  • Strong communication and documentation habits
  • Nice to Have

  • GCC or GCC High exposure
  • Compliance / security‑aware mindset
  • Automation and scripting experience
  • Leadership or mentoring experience
  • Why Engineers Come to GRS (And Stay)

  • You’re treated like a
  • professional

  • Your experience is respected
  • Your voice matters
  • You work alongside other senior engineers
  • You’re not punished for caring about quality
  • If you’re bored, boxed in, or underappreciated

this is the place you’ve been looking for.

    * Generous paid time off

    * Professional development and certification assistance

    * Employee discounts

And something you won’t find at most MSPs

    * Annual company retreats at resort destinations outside of the United States

  • We invest in our people. Once a year, the GRS team comes together at an international resort to disconnect, recharge, and build real relationships — because great teams aren’t built in ticket queues.
  • Final Word

This role is not for everyone.

    And we’re good with that.

But if you’re a senior MSP engineer who knows you’re capable of more —
