Overview
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and motivated Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a residential/commercial property portfolio. This role works closely with the Property Manager to ensure efficient property management, high tenant satisfaction, and compliance with California housing laws and regulations.
You'll be at the forefront of managing daily administrative tasks, coordinating maintenance, and fostering positive relationships with residents and vendors alike. You'll also be doing onsite visits, conversing with tenants, and keeping a keen eye out for any issues/problems you see at the properties. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing lease agreements, renewals, and tenant onboarding processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Fair Housing regulations.
- Support property leasing efforts through prospect engagement, property tours, and upselling available units to prospective tenants.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests, oversee facilities management, and ensure timely resolution of issues using Appfolio.
- Maintain detailed records including data entry, filing, and legal administrative documentation related to landlord\-tenant law and Section 8 programs.
- Conduct regular property inspections to monitor property condition, safety standards, and adherence to lease agreements.
- Handle customer service inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy; manage conflict resolution effectively.
- Support rent collection activities, including processing payments through Property Management Software like Yardi or OneSite, and follow up on delinquencies.
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles;
- Strong knowledge of landlord\-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 policies, and legal administrative procedures.
- Proficiency with using a computer, including but not limited to microsoft word, excel, browsing the internet, MLS, etc.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in contracts, legal documents, and maintenance records.
- Demonstrated ability to handle conflict management situations professionally while maintaining positive relationships.
- Exceptional communication skills;
- Office experience complemented by a solid understanding of facilities management, property leasing, and customer service principles.
