- 58\-bed community hospital with a 33\-bed PCU/Medical unit (2N Medical)
- No trauma designation
- Patient population includes stroke R/O, pneumonia, cellulitis, failure to thrive, altered mental status, chest pain R/O, atrial fibrillation, and COPD
- RN\-to\-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
- Telemetry monitoring via Philips, with remote monitoring support at a central bunker
- Common procedures include trach care, cardiac drip management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell
- 12\-hour night shifts (7p–7a), 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) per regional needs — do not apply if not agreeable to multi\-facility floating
- No on\-call requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of PCU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Proficiency in trach care, cardiac drip management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care/dressing changes, and central line management required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- First\-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Unit support includes CNAs, a receptionist/HUC on most day shifts, a charge nurse typically without patient assignment, phlebotomy, an IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy 24/7, and hospitalist coverage 24/7 (in\-person and virtual)
- Orientation includes facility\-level NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any shortfall in contracted hours must be made up at the end of the contract
