Position Overview
Gradera is seeking an experienced and hands\-on Controller to lead and scale the company’s accounting operations. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance as the company grows its enterprise services and platform business.
The Controller will play a key role in building scalable financial processes, ensuring financial accuracy and discipline, and supporting executive leadership with reliable financial insights. This position will report directly to the COO and work closely with leadership across finance, operations, and delivery teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience operating in high\-growth technology or services environments, and the ability to build and improve financial processes in a fast\-moving organization.
What You’ll Do
Accounting Operations \& Financial Reporting
- Oversee day\-to\-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and cash management
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare internal financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules for executive leadership
- Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and relationships with outside accounting and tax partners
- Manage sales tax compliance and multi\-state regulatory requirements as the company grows
- Lead revenue recognition and accounting practices aligned with technology and services business models
- Ensure accurate treatment of contract revenue, deferred revenue, and project\-based services revenue
- Support financial reporting related to services delivery and platform revenue streams
- Partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Provide financial insight to support operational and strategic decision\-making
- Assist with investor and board reporting as needed
- Design and implement scalable accounting processes that support company growth
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency across finance workflows
- Ensure accounting systems and reporting processes can scale with the organization
- Manage and mentor a small accounting team, including payroll and accounts payable functions
- Establish clear processes, accountability, and operational discipline within the finance organization
- Help build the finance function as the company grows
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 7\+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility
- Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager in a technology, software, or professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience managing accounting operations including close processes, compliance, and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross\-functionally with executive leadership
- Experience working in high\-growth technology or services companies
- Familiarity with software, AI, or platform\-based business models
- Experience supporting scaling organizations or building accounting processes from early stages
- Exposure to investor reporting, board reporting, or strategic financial initiatives
- High attention to detail and financial accuracy
- Strong ownership and accountability
- Process\-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands\-on execution

Compensation:
Base Salary\- $120,000\- $140,000
The final salary for this role will be determined based on a combination of factors including relevant experience, performance during interviews, and results from applicable assessments.
